String of Pearls Sweater

This pattern is knitted flat, knitting two panels (front and back) identical. It is knitted from the bottom up, starting with the hem, then knitting the body of the sweater to the underarms. You then cast on stitches at the beginning and end of the row for both sleeve lengths and continue to knit the entire width of the sweater from sleeve cuff to sleeve cuff with the String of Pearls stitch. You then end with a garter stitch neck and shoulder line. Seaming is then done along the sides of the sweater body to under the arms, then across the shoulders leaving room for the neck.
