Mysterious Swirl Sweater

**PATTERN STORY** This all started with the yarn. The Suri Merino from Blue Sky Fibers is a single ply yarn with lots of alpaca. I wanted to give it some structure with stitches and the feeling of a morning mist from a stream. The cables were inspired by a vintage designer knit I saw in a thrift store. Along with the ribbing, they create a dynamic and fluid knit. I was calling the knit my swirl sweater, but I knew that was not the final name. I heard the 1995 Peter Andre hit ‘Mysterious Girl’ and knew the design had to be named after that. **SKILLS NEEDED** Increasing stitches, decreasing stitches, picking up stitches, cabling. The pattern is appropriate for an advanced knitter. **GARMENT CONSTRUCTION** The sweater is knit flat from the neck to arm hole. Left side and right sides are then picked up and combined. The remainder of the body is knit in the round.
