The Breathy Top by Brooknit Bonneterie is the perfect addition to your wardrobe. The textured eyelet design makes it very breathable and lightweight, perfect for mid-seasons like Spring and Fall or for the chillier summer nights. The wide-neck opening creates an airy, light style. The pattern is written in a unique size M. You can easily adjust to a smaller or bigger size using your personal dimensions and gauge. Be aware that, especially with the eyelet design, the true sizing will appear after blocking (it will expand!), and we recommend knitting samples and testing before modifying. We designed it using the Brooknit Bonneterie Merino for its softness, its natural thermoregulating properties, and moisture-wicking properties, which make it very comfortable, even on hot days! Why “Breathy”? Regarding the eyelets, they create an airy yet perfect texture for handling breezy air. Pick your favorite color, the one that goes with everything, or a special one that will stand out. The Process: It is knitted flat, in one single piece. You start at the bottom, work up to the shoulders, create the neck opening, and knit the back from the shoulders to the bottom, with increases on the front and decreases on the back to create additional volume at chest level and shoulder coverage. It is identical on the front and back, and you will follow the same directions in reverse (increases/decreases) throughout. You will only need to seam the sides, to close it, and define the armpit opening to your liking. It is simple, but it will require enough attention and focus to keep track of your progress and make it entertaining. You will find written instructions and quick videos to support your learning or refresh your skills. The pattern and sizing are designed for Brooknit Bonneterie's yarn (100% Merino superwash, worsted weight). Needles: US size 8 / 5mm. If you are using different yarn and needles, the size may vary, and we recommend making a swatch to check and adjust to your desired size. Instructions consist of written patterns and QR codes that link to on-point videos to help you learn or refresh your memory.
