Sunday Bag

Knit the Sunday Bag — a striped shoulder tote worked seamlessly in the round from the base up, with a fabric lining and a leather strap for a clean, everyday finish. Roomy enough for a knitting project, a book and the weekend essentials. The body is worked in the round in stripes; the straps are shaped and finished in double knitting to form tunnels for the leather strap, which is fixed with Chicago screws. The bag is lined with fabric. Techniques: Judy's Magic Cast-On, knitting in the round, decreases, double knitting, Kitchener stitch, plus a little hand-sewing for the lining. Finished dimensions: 28 × 28 cm / 11 × 11 in (without straps); 28 × 48 cm / 11 × 19 in (with straps). Yarn: Duo by Sandnes Garn (DK; 115 m / 50 g), 2 colours — approx. 150 g (Colour A) + 50 g (Colour B). Needles: 3 mm (US 2½) circular needle + DPNs.
