**Gerda** is the brave heroine of Hans Christian Andersen’s original fairy tale, *The Snow Queen*. Inspired by the shimmer of freshly fallen snow, the **Gerda Mittens** combine a subtly sparkling fingering-weight yarn with the softness of mohair, held together throughout. Simple and quick to knit, they are worked in the round from the ribbed cuff to the hand. A thumb gusset provides a comfortable fit, while a few rows of ribbing finish the hand.
