Ruffle Hoop Earrings

The Crochet Ruffle Hoop Earrings are made in soft cotton yarn, featuring a warm tan base finished with a graphic black ruffle edge. Lightweight, playful, and just a little unexpected, they bring a touch of texture and handcrafted charm to everything from a simple white tee to your favorite summer dress. Your basic hoops could never! :-) Earrings are made by first crocheting single crochet stitches around the hoop, then making multiple double crochets in each stitch to give the ruffle look, and finished with a row of single crochet stitches in a contrasting color. Yarn used in the pattern is Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 but any cotton 8/4 yarn may be used. You will need two skeins, one for the main color and one for the accent color. You will only need a very small amount of yarn from each skein. You will need the following earring findings: French or Shepherd hooks, jump rings, earring hoops, jewelry glue, jewelry pliers (tip: a jewelry kit will contain most of these things all-in-one.) Gauge is not important, however using a different hook size and yarn weight will result in different sized jewelry pieces.
