Strawberry Short Socks

Sweet little strawberry socks! These little strawberries are deceptively simple, using a solid red and a red/yellow yarn in stripes to create a seed effect. The top of the sock is knitted in a vibrant green and uses short rows to create the effect of leaves. This pattern is written using a gusset and heel flap construction with an eye of partridge heel flap for a strawberry-look texture. Although this pattern is written in one size (63 stitches around), the leaves can be worked over any multiple of 9. Easily added to your favourite sock pattern, simply add/decrease a few stitches to make a multiple of 9 before you start the short rows. And sure, strawberries are cute but so are pumpkins and blueberries and pineapples and all sorts of things - can be made in a variety of colours!
