Moss on the Trail Dishcloth

**Pattern Introduction** My daughter and I decided to do a “Hiking Girl Summer”. Long walks along beautiful trails. Enjoying all that they have to offer, sunshine, plants, and of course wildlife. Living in New Mexico, it gets HOT in the sun. So we often hike to the shady bits. And we get ever so excited to see some moss growing. It’s rare here, but it does happen. Moss on the Trail Dishcloth features a beloved stitch pattern amongst knitters, the moss stitch! The naturally bumpy texture of the moss stitch makes for great scrubbing of dishes and other surfaces, not to mention it's reversible! There are many variations of moss stitch. If you find other stitch pattern variations referred to as moss stitch, do not be concerned. The variation of moss stitch used in this pattern is the double, or the Irish moss stitch. Happy knitting! **Skills** This project is suited for knitters who are comfortable with or who are open to learning the following skills and techniques: Cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off **Materials** *Yarn recommendations* Knit Picks, Dishie Yarn Worsted, fiber content: cotton 100%; 190 yards/174 meters, or similar yarn that knits to gauge. 13 (76, 106, 205) yards/23 (132, 184, 357) meters; 7 (40, 56, 108) g Sample knit Size Small is shown in Bumblebee. *Knitting needles* US size 8/5 mm, or size used to match gauge - circular or DPNs as you prefer. *Notions* Scissors, tapestry needle. **Gauge** It is not necessary to obtain gauge to knit this pattern; however, any deviations will affect final measurements and the amount of yarn used. 18 sts x 28 rows over 4"/10 cm in grid stitch knit flat, after blocking. **Size Information** Mini (Small, Medium, Large) *Finished measurements* 3 x 3 (7.5 x 7.5, 10.25 x 10.25, 12 x 15) inches/7.5 x 7.5 (19 x 19, 26 x 26, 30.5 x 38) cm.
