Sandoy Hat is worked from the bottom up. It can be worked with ear flaps or with a ribbed brim. First the ribbed brim or the ear flaps are worked, then the crown is worked with a cable pattern and decreases on top. Double pointed needles 4.5 mm Cable needle for cables TENSION 17 sts and 30 rows in ridge pattern (= 4 rows stocking stitch, 2 rows reverse stocking stitch) on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm (after washing).
