Jeanne D'Arc

Jeanne d ‘Arc is an oversized box cut blouse inspired by a medieval cape and armor. The blouse is knitted from top to bottom. First knit the back yoke in pattern, at the same time cast on shoulder stitches with backward loop cast-on. The pattern with star stitches continues down to the armhole. Then pick up and knit stitches for the right and left front piece, which are worked separately, first with short rows over the shoulders, and then in stockinette stitch down to the armhole. The three parts are then assembled, and the body is continued in stockinette stitch and ends with an Icelandic bind-off. Pick up and knit stitches along the front pieces for the front edges, which are knitted in double knit and bound off using an Italian bind-off. Stitches are then picked up and knitted along the neckline and in the neck, and the collar is knitted in double knit in the same way as the front edge. The short sleeve edges are worked as the front edges, but are worked in the round instead of back and forth. Finally, buttons are sewn on, through both front edges, which gathers the blouse at the front.
