Jacob Socks

The Jacob Socks are toe-up socks with an afterthought heel and a simple textured stitch pattern that creates little ladder-like details across the fabric. Working from the toe up makes it easy to check the fit as you knit, and the foot length can be adjusted before you place the heel. After marking the heel placement, continue through the leg and cuff, then return to work the afterthought heel. The pattern includes six sizes: baby, toddler, child, Adult S, Adult M, and Adult L. The sample is made with Knit Picks Stroll Effects (tonal) on US 1 / 2.25 mm needles. The changing colors pair nicely with the textured stitch pattern while keeping the little ladder details visible. Techniques used include Judy’s Magic Cast On, knit and purl stitches, yo, k2tog, ssk, m1l, m1r, an afterthought heel, and Kitchener stitch.
