Quirky Birds Mosaic Blanket

Meet the flock! The Quirky Birds Blanket is an overlay mosaic crochet baby blanket built from one simple bird motif — except no two birds are quite the same. One's sporting a crown. Another's rocking a pair of glasses. And yes, one of them is wearing Y-fronts (we don't ask why). Each bird shares the same base shape, so once you've got the hang of it, you'll be racing to see which personality comes next. If you've never tried overlay mosaic before, this is a lovely place to start — the technique builds up in simple, repeating rows, so the "wow, did I really make that?" moment sneaks up on you fast. Links to helpful video tutorials are included in the pattern too, so you've got support close at hand whenever you need it. The finished blanket measures approximately 70.5 x 98cm (28 x 38.5 inches) before the border is added — a lovely snuggly size for a baby blanket, with room to make it your own with an edging of your choice. The pattern includes both US and UK crochet terms, written and charted instructions, and a large print version — so however you like to work, there's a version made for you.
