Tetrapod (coastal structure)

This pattern is for a 3D tetrapod, those structures you often see along the coast to protect against erosion from the sea. The pattern is worked up in four separate legs, partially joined using crochet, and then finished with a sewn seam. The example in this pattern uses fingering weight yarn with a 2.75mm hook, to produce a 12cm x 12cm x 12cm object. You can use thicker yarn and a larger hook, which will produce a larger object. This is a fun pattern to work up, great for using leftover half skeins in your stash.
