Petals On Stone Sweater

Petals On Stone Sweater is inspired by a path after rain in the late winter. Covered with sunset light, it was rather tranquil, sitting there idly, collecting the sound of every petal falling, and of each raindrop dripping. The pullover is knit from the top down in a pattern consisting of checkerboard stitch and stockinette stitch. Decreases and yarn over waltzing, falling petals scatter onto the checkerboards. The work starts with shoulders. Each shoulder will be worked back and forth and shaped with increases along the neckline. After both shoulders are joined, the back section is continued working until the armhole shaping is finished. The same steps are proceeded again for the front. Once done, the body is connected and worked in the round. Shoulder seams will be sewn up. Stitches are picked up from the armholes for the sleeves and worked in stockinette in the round.
