This is the crochet pattern for the Tethys Tank Top! It’s a light, summery and classic top that goes with every outfit. It’s crocheted vertically in two pieces that are attached and seamed together at the end. It can be made in two different versions; loose with a wider boat neck (A) or fitted with a more narrow neck (B). They both have the same gauge, stitch and hook but slightly different yarn requirements in order to bring out their best qualities. The pattern is best suited for intermediate level crocheters and up. The pattern is graded in 9 sizes and can essentially be made in any length. There is an option to add bust and/or hip shaping which gives the top a very nice shape. Below is some technical information about the pattern that I highly recommend you read through carefully before starting to crochet.
**MATERIALS**
**Crochet hook:**
- 3.0 mm (or hook needed to meet gauge)
**Yarn:**
- Both versions require a light fingering weight yarn (approx. 250 m/50 g or with a knitting gauge of 27-28 sts/10 cm)
- For version A (zero ease, pink top in photos) I recommend a yarn with good draping qualities, like silk or rayon or linen or blends of these. I used Pure Silk by Knitting for Olive. Other recommendations are: Tynn Line by Sandnes Garn, Kinu by ITO Yarns.
- For version B (fitted, lilac top in photos) I recommend a softer yarn like merino or a cotton/merino blend. I used Cotton Merino by Knitting for Olive. Other recommendations are: Merino by Knitting for Olive, Sunday by Sandnes, CottonWool 3 Organic by Gepard Garn, Whirl by Scheepjes.
- See recommended yarn amount for each of the 9 sizes and 2 versions below. Note that this is without changing the length of the tank top.
- **Version A:**
- (715,795,905,1020,1180,1260,1410,1500,1585) meters
- (780,870,990,1115,1290,1375,1540,1640,1735) yards
- **Version B:**
- (565,620,730,850,975,1100,1195,1285,1375) meters
- (620,680,800,930,1065,1205,1305,1405,1505) yards

**SIZES**
- Sizes (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) are intended to fit an *upper bust* measurement of (67,77,87,97,107,117,127,137,147) cm or (26.6,30.5,34.5,38.0,42.0,46.0,50.0,54.0,58.0) inches
- See listing photo for all measurements of the finished garment
- Bust and/or hip shaping will add 5-10+ cm (2-4+ inches) to the width.
- Version A is intended to have around zero ease around the fullest bust while Version B is intended to have around 15 cm (6 inches) of negative ease around the fullest bust.
**GAUGE**
- 24 stitches x 16 rows = 10 x 9 cm (3.9 x 3.5 inches)
- The gauge is made using a 4-row-repeat of yarn over slip stitches and linked half treble crochets (explained in detail in the patterna and video tutorial)
**DIFFICULTY**
- 3.5/5
- The hip and bust shaping using short rows can be a little tricky if you've never done it before, and we're working with a thin yarn and small hook. However, we are using the same stitch combo throughout the entire pattern and I have included lots of detailed descriptions, photos and some video tutorials to help you along the way.
