It has been built from the coastline up to the hills, and the town faces the beautiful Gulf of Pozzuoli. The town is built on a vulcanian area, on a caldera of the Campi Flegrei volcano. The area is full of interesting archeological sites. Unfortunately, the volcanic activity has been high from 2005. There was a massive earthquake on July 31 (2026). It caused damage to buildings, many palazzos are out of use, over 1000 families don’t have access to their homes. 13 schools are closed. This pattern was created to donate funds to help the people of Pozzuoli. These fingering weight socks are knit toe up with a heel flap. The instep and front leg are decorated with the bud pattern. The green color of my sample, as well as the stitch pattern referring to flower buds, talk about hope. The instructions are written for the Magic Loop method. **Finished measurements** S (M, L) XL Finished foot / leg circumference 16.5 (19, 21) 23.5 cm / 6.5 (7.5, 8.25) 9.25” Leg / foot length adjustable. The socks are intended to be worn with 0 – 2 cm / 0 – 0.75” negative ease. Sample shown in size S. **Needles** 2.25 mm (US 1) – 100 cm / 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge. **Yarn requirements** Louhittaren Luola Vainamoinen (75% wool, 25% nylon, 400 m / 100 g) 1 skein or 160 (210, 265) 315 m / 175 (230, 290) 345 yds of fingering weight yarn. Please note that any changes made to the leg or foot length will affect the amount of yarn needed. **Gauge** 33 sts x 48 rnds = 10 cm /4” with 2.25 mm (US 1) needles in Buds of hope pattern in the round after blocking. **Notions** Tapestry needle.
