The Hand Knitted Dorris Jumper

The Dorris Jumper is a bold, stranded crew-neck jumper which was developed for the domestic knitting machine and has been adapted into a hand knitted pattern. Knitted using two ends of JC Rennie Super Soft yarn held together, this creates a thick and heavy wool knit which becomes incredibly warm. Knitted bottom up in the round until the shaped arm holes where it is continued knitting back and forth and shaped over the neck. The sleeves are grown on from the shoulder seam and are worked using short-rows to shape the sleeve head, before being joined in the round and worked down to the cuff. The neck rib is knitted and finished with an Italian bind-off. The colours are a suggestion for this pattern and can be worked however you feel appropriate. The chart for the pattern is included at the end and should be followed throughout to maintain pattern continuity.
