Pleasant Pineapple

The Pleasant Pineapple is a realistic looking and sized amigurumi pineapple. Perfect for intermediate crocheters looking for a true-to-size pineapple for your amigurumi kitchen. These are great for kids kitchens or any pineapple lovers too! Use as decoration or a play toy. Since shell stitch is used in the pineapple base, I also offer instructions for adding stuffing into a pantyhose to avoid any stuffing escaping from the pineapple itself. A technique my pattern testers really enjoyed. You'll find more detailed information about the crochet pattern below. ## Skill Level ## **Intermediate** You should be comfortable with: * Working in continuous rounds * Working back and forth in rows * Single crochet, increases and decreases * Shell stitch * Crocheting into the FLO/BLO * Using a stitch marker * Basic colour changes * Reading a pattern carefully and counting your stitches Pattern written in ***US terms (English only).*** ## Finished size ## Using the yarn and hooks specified in this pattern, my creation was 10.5cm / 4.13” wide at the pineapple base by 28cm / 11” high from the bottom of the pineapple to the top of the leaves. ## Materials needed ## **Yarn:** Worsted/Aran **Crochet hook:** 3.5mm **Recommended Yarn:** Rico Creative Cotton Aran or Drops Paris 100% Cotton in Mustard (55 grams = 90.2 yards) and Green (50 grams = 93 yards). **Other supplies:** * Stuffing * Needle * Scissors * Pins * Stitch marker * Stockings/Pantyhose ## Gauge ## Gauge is not required for this pattern, however keep tension consistent throughout. For reference, my gauge was: 5 sc stitches on 2.5cm / 1" 5 rounds on 2.5cm / 1" and 1.5 shell stitches x 5cm horizontal 2.5 shell stitches x 5cm vertical ## Pattern Notes ## * Most parts are worked in continuous rounds unless stated otherwise. * Stitch counts vary - pay close attention at the end of each round. * Keep tension consistent throughout. * Yarn weight and fibre can be customised, but ensure you change your hook size according to the yarn you use.
