The Vivi top is a beginner (with intermediate details) top-to-bottom knit top featuring a fitted chest section with pleats to accommodate the bust, and a ribbed waist, which allows for a cinched fitted silhouette. This pattern has increases and decreases in the bust section where 6 pleats will be placed. Additionally, the ribbing for the rest of the torso will have a bit of shaping to accommodate for the hips. There is very little seaming by the underarm and top front section. The only time you need to cast off is once the whole garment is knitted. This pattern includes image demonstrations and hyperlinks for techniques used. There is an additional video made by me showing you the different techniques needed to complete the garment. I used cotton 8/4 to make my samples, but I would not recommend if you want the garment to have memory as cotton stretches overtime. If you still want to use cotton, you can also add an elastic thread around specific parts of the pattern to avoid the garment from stretching. * Sizing The garment is supposed to be fitted For the bust section we want there to be a little bit of negative ease so if your measurements are in between any size, I would recommend sizing down For the ribbing waist section, there should be around 12 cm of negative ease as the ribbing will stretch enough to fit you snuggly while still looking neat The garment is super stretchy as there is a lot of negative ease, especially the ribbed waist section so the sizings are suggestions, but because of the stretch, it can fit larger sizes than written There are 3 different sizes to take into account, the bust area and the waist area (in cm) For the bust area: 1, (2), 3, (4), 5 76-83, (84-91), 92-99, (100-107), 111-115 For the length of the bust: A, (B), C, (D), E 25-27, (29-31), 33-35, (37-39), 40-42 For the ribbing: F, (G), H, (I), J 58-64, (68-74), 78-84, (88-94), 98-104 You can mix and match these sizings depending on your bust and waist measurements * Important: Unfortunately I have not been able to get testers for sizes 4 and 5, with the addition of larger bust sizes so I offer the possibility to get the pattern for free in exchange for feedback on the sizing. Send me a dm on Instagram: @unodostres.knit or send me a private message here to send the pdf. * Gauge: Ribbing → 3.5 mm needles 5,3 x 7,7 = 20st x 20 rows unstretched 9,3 x 5,5 stretched Standard stock and knit → 24st x 30 rows = 10x10 cm in 4.0 mm needles * Materials: The recommended yarn for this project is sports weight Due to the lack of testers for larger sizes and the different combinations of sizes, I cannot accurately say how much yarn you will need for the project, but it averages around 150g for smaller sizes to 250-300 g for larger sizes. 4.0 mm circular needles 3.5 mm circular needles Extra needle (can be 2-sided, circular, …) At least 20 stitch markers Scrap yarn or lifeline cord Tapestry needle Scissors Row counter / anything you may have to keep track of rows *Elastic thread (only if the fiber you chose has little memory)
