Ryefield Socks

Individual patterns will be released separately in 2027.* The Ryefield Socks are worked seamlessly from the cuff down, combining traditional colorwork with a comfortable and thoughtfully shaped sock construction. The socks begin with a 2x2 ribbed cuff, providing elasticity and a neat, stable edge. The leg features a colorwork motif inspired by swaying rye stalks, worked in two contrasting colors. After the patterned section, the sock continues in stockinette stitch with the main color, keeping the motif the visual focus. To improve the fit of the short-row heel, additional stitches are gradually increased around the instep, creating extra depth where it is needed most. The heel is then worked using a short-row construction with double stitches, providing a smooth, comfortable fit without a heel flap. Once the heel is complete, the extra stitches are decreased, seamlessly returning the sock to its original circumference. The foot is worked entirely in stockinette stitch for comfort and durability. The socks are finished with a classic round toe, shaped with gradual decreases for a smooth, comfortable fit. This construction combines timeless colorwork with practical shaping, resulting in a versatile pair of socks that are both enjoyable to knit and comfortable to wear. Sizing Adult S (Adult M, Adult L) Finished measurements Sock circumference: 19 (20, 22.5) cm. Foot length (adjustable): 23 (25, 28.5) cm. Materials Yarn: Fingering-weight sock yarn in two colors, one main color and one contrasting color. MC: approximately 195 (210, 255) m. CC: approximately 80 (100, 130) m. Yardage may vary if your gauge/yarn is different. Gauge: 32 sts & 42 rounds = 10 cm in stockinette stitch, worked in the round.
