It started from the really practical place of needing a light, cosy hiking cowl and expanded into something much more luxurious. The pattern offers 3 sizes as shown in the schematic (please see pictures) But also includes information and advice for customising. The large size doubles as a snood with is just perfect if you live in colder climes. It also provides full written instructions for the techniques used - The Crochet provisional cast on and the stocking stitch graft, although you could always simply cast on, cast off and sew the ends together. This is perfect for lace leftovers and is knit at a gauge where it grows nice and quickly. It will probably grow even quicker if you add a stripe sequence, again the pattern discusses this and includes more info. the other great thing about this pattern is that you can pretty much knit until your yarn runs out.
