La Grattachecca Bandana si lavora dall’alto verso il basso (top-down) partendo dal bordo superiore. Si avvia un lungo cordoncino I-cord da cui vengono successivamente riprese le maglie per il corpo del lavoro. Il corpo è caratterizzato da un motivo geometrico a righe testurizzate, ottenuto alternando sezioni a maglia rasata e sezioni a dritto ritorto. Le diminuzioni si eseguono sul diritto del lavoro sia ai lati che lungo la linea del raglan centrale, fino a raggiungere la punta finale. Al termine, si riprendono le maglie alle due estremità per creare i laccetti di allacciatura.
