Ice Breaker 'Booties'

I'm a hockey mom, and having a child in sports (hockey, soccer, baseball) means you usually end up in a hotel with all the other team families at one time or another for a tournament. Those weekends are their own kind of chaos. Between games, the parents end up in hotel hallways, drinks in hand, keeping an eye on the kids running mini-sticks drills at the far end of the corridor. Nobody wants to put real shoes back on, but bare feet on hotel carpet is a hard no. I started thinking about baby booties: why do only babies get those? ...and Ice Breaker Booties were born. ------------------ These slippers are constructed in 4 stages, (and not in a typical sock fashion), first the cuff, then the instep, then the toe/sides/heel in the round, and finally the sole. To adjust foot length, knit the instep length as 50% of suggested finished sock foot length. Picking up the side stitches will take care of the rest. See ++ pattern note on page 2.
