Shale Top

Shale Top is designed to be a loosely fitted tank top that can be worn as a decorative overlay or as a cute beachside summer vacation outfit. It is worked from the bottom up, mainly in stockinette stitch, with three horizontal braid details that divide the design into five sections. The front of the top is designed without a traditional button band; instead, the buttons and the natural curve of the fabric edges create playful oval-shaped openings. The bottom and top edges of the top are finished with double ribbing and natural rolling edges. This is a quick and relaxing summer project when made with plant fiber yarn, but when worked in a warmer yarn, it can easily transition into a cozy transitional-season garment. This pattern is designed to be worn with 0-10 cm (0-4 inches) of positive ease, depending on your preferred fit.
