*******PLEASE USE THE LINK ABOVE FOR THE FREE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS AND THE VIDEO TUTORIAL******* Crochet sock patterns have always been something I’ve been keen to write more of — mostly because so many crochet sock patterns out there kinda… suck. And honestly, I get so jealous of all the beautiful knitted socks I see floating around, so I’ve made it my mission to bring crochet socks up to that level. Ever since the success of my Sailor Socks, you’ve all been asking for more, so guess what — you’re getting one! This is the second pattern in my Sunday Brunch series: three waffle‑stitch‑based designs I’m releasing this year. The waffle stitch has become one of my favourite textured stitches because it works for everything. It’s perfect for the squishy Sunday Brunch Sweater Vest, and it’s just as perfect for the Sunday Brunch Sweater coming this autumn — giving it that lush drape while still keeping a nice, comfy fit. But let’s talk about these socks — The Sunday Brunch Socks! They’re made with 4ply/fingering weight yarn and a 3mm hook, and they work up surprisingly quickly. The toe‑up construction means you can check the fit as you go, which is always a win. You’ll only need around 150g of yarn, though if you’re planning contrast toes/heels, that amount might vary a little. If you’re making them for someone else, don’t worry — I’ve included a full sizing schematic covering pretty much all men’s and women’s sizes in UK, US, and EU measurements. There’s no need to stress about gauge either; the pattern is all about hitting each measurement, and the sizing charts are included below and in the downloadable PDF. As always, there’s a full video tutorial on my YouTube channel that walks you through the whole process. For my sample pair, I used West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply (75% wool, 25% nylon), but you can use whatever fibre blend you love. I just think wool socks feel so much nicer — and because you don’t need much yarn for smaller projects, it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to something a bit more luxe. IMPORTANT NOTE: In my testing and research I have found that it is best to SIZE DOWN when making the socks. I am typically a size 10 but a size 9 sock works best for my feet.
