This pattern was designed for the 2017 Gauge Dye Works Yarn & Pattern Club. It's now available for everyone! You can also get it as part of *[Knit Outside][4]*, a book of all three 2017 club patterns. The current pattern version is V1.3_2026-02-15. If you have an older version, you can download the current one in your Ravelry library. The only changes in the pattern are to clarify using the updated yarn from Gauge Dye Works. [The yarn designed for the *Knit Outside* patterns are available to order from Gauge Dye Works.][5] -- A flowing springtime gradient splashed with short row “leaves” turns this semi-circular pi shawl into a stunning statement piece — and the perfect wrap for your outdoor adventures. And the best part? It’s worked in a unique self-striping yarn that shifts and blends, with golden sections appearing as you knit to tell you when to work each Leaf. It’s addictively mesmerising! I worked closely with Catherine of Gauge Dye Works to design this special shawl. It was an unusual collaboration, in that the yarn colourway and the pattern were developed in tandem to create a knitting experience that’s fun, engaging, and reflects the beauty of the great outdoors. [Subscribe to my weekly newsletter to get updates, exclusive sales, and recommendations!][6] **Dimensions** Wingspan: 48 in/122 cm Depth at Center: 16.5 in/42 cm **Yarn** Gauge Dye Works 4-Ply Sock (75% superwash Merino, 25% nylon; 698 yd/638 m per 150g skein) Color: Goldstream; 1 skein If substituting yarn, you’ll need: MC: 550 yd/503 m CC: 50 yd/46 m If you work with a 555 yd/507 m, 150g skein of Gauge Dye Works MCN, your shawl measurements may be slightly smaller than the sample, but the pattern will work as written. **Blocked Gauge** Gauge measurement should be taken after blocking. 21 sts/48 rows = 4 in/10 cm in garter stitch Needles & Notions Needle Sizes are recommendations only. Always use needle size necessary to obtain gauge.
