'Up the Lattice' Sweater

This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down using European shoulder construction. Work begins at the back neckline, followed by shoulder shaping. The upper back is worked flat to the armhole depth. Stitches are picked up along the left shoulder to shape the left front neckline with increases and placed on hold. Stitches are then picked up along the right shoulder to shape the right front neckline. Stitches are cast on to join the left and right panels. The front is worked flat to the armhole depth, then joined with the back panel to work the body in the round until the desired length. The hem is finished with ribbing worked using smaller needles. Sleeves are worked in the round from picked up stitches, shaped with decreases, and finished with ribbing. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline, and a 1×1 ribbed stitch is worked to complete the sweater. Originally designed as a gift, the pattern is written for a size M for men or size L for women, though it can be customized by adjusting the length of the body and sleeves as desired. **Measurement** The finished sweater has dimensions with the following: Finished Chest Circumference 114 cm/45 inches (Measured at the widest point, just below the armhole.) Total Length 60 cm/23.5 inches (Measured from the shoulder (high shoulder point) down to the hem.) Sleeve Length 48.5 cm/19 inches (Measured from the underarm to the cuff.) Upper Arm Circumference 42 cm/16.5 inches (Measured at the widest part of the arm) Underarm Depth 22 cm/8.66 inches (Measured from the top of the shoulder to the underarm.) Neck Width 21 cm/8.27 inches (Measured across the back neck.) **Needles** 4 mm (US 6) and 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles, each with a cable length of at least 80 cm (32 in). **Yarn** Sample shown is knit with 18 skeins of 100% wool worsted-weight yarn (110 yards / 50 g). This includes allowance for a swatch.
