This pattern will guide you through making a cute little bee coin purse, it includes instructions for all the crochet components, how to sew them together, how to sew a simple lining to go in the purse, and how to join the purse to a kisslock clasp. Includes ideas for how to make the purse without some components such as lining.
This pattern is an introduction to crochet purse construction suitable for Intermediate crocheters.
It includes a full pattern that is over 20 pages long with plenty of photos and tips. And a print friendly version that doesn’t include any pictures, but still has the tips and full pattern.
All crochet terms are US terms, all measurements are in metric.
This pattern is only available in English.
The finished Beasley Purse is approximately 11 cm high by 13cm wide.
The materials you will need include:
8ply cotton or cotton blend yarn (recommended) approx. 50g of up to 4 different colours. Approx. 25 - 30g of main colour, and between 5 - 10g of contrast colours each.
3mm crochet hook
sewing thread and no. 10 crochet cotton (recommended)
8.5cm by 6.5 cm curved kisslock clasp purse frame
sewing needles (at least one needle that will fit through the holes in your purse clasp) and pins
cotton material for lining, approx. 50cm x 20cm
Crochet techniques used include:
single crochet
chain
needle join
magic ring
sewing techniques including making a simple purse lining, how to attach amigurumi pieces and how to sew a purse into a purse clasp.
The pattern also includes photo tutorials explaining how to crochet tubes, how to change colours and embroider simple facial features on your purse.
