Mine are always squishy yarn combined with something that has areas of relaxing rhythm (hello Garter, my old friend) to balance out sections of deeper thinking (Brioche - buddy!) or interest (Nupps, anyone?). This shawl brings it all together with simple sideways shaping that creates a very easy-to-wear shawl. I hope you love it! **SIZES** One (with notes on how to adjust to your preference) **FINISHED MEASUREMENTS** Wingspan - 86”/218.5 cm Center Depth - 20”/51 cm **YARN REQUIREMENTS** *These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.* Worsted Weight Wool - Approximately 300 g/750 yds/690 m **SUGGESTED YARN** *For this shawl I chose a Corriedale worsted weight yarn that creates an incredibly squishy and generously sized shawl to wrap up in! (While I only used 3 skeins for my shawl, I used it all! To be on the safe side, you may want to consider going with 4 to avoid playing any games of yarn chicken. I chat about how to adapt the size of the shawl to how much yarn you have in the notes of the pattern.)* La Bien Aimee Corrie Worsted 75% Falkland Corriedale/25% Gotland Wool (100 g/250 yds/230 m) - 3 - 4 skeins French Grey **SUGGESTED NEEDLES** US 7/4.5 mm - 24 - 32”/60 - 80 cm circular recommended Size E Crochet Hook (for Nupps) **NOTIONS** Locking stitch marker (optional), Tapestry needle, row counter (recommended) **GAUGE** 21 sts & 30 rows = 4”/10 cm **TECHNIQUES TO INDULGE IN** Long tail cast on Increasing Decreasing One-color brioche (video tutorial included) Nupps made with a crochet hook (video tutorial included) I-cord edges A tiny bit of kitchener stitch **YARN SUBSTITUTION IDEAS** [Click here to be directed to a pdf with some yarn substitution ideas! These yarns have not all been tested, so we cannot guarantee their outcome, but we do hope they provide a jumping off point for inspiration!][2] [1]: http://eepurl.com/diPxsr [2]: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LR2lRTRZCG4Lw7mOrNUsCGiI7uv11n55/view?usp=sharing
