From there, the back is worked flat to the underarm. Short rows are used to shape the neckline, while stitches are increased at the sides to form the underarms. The back stitches are then placed on hold. Next, the front is worked from the neckline in the same manner, using short rows to shape the neckline and increasing stitches to form the underarms. Once both pieces are complete, the front and back are joined and the body is worked in the round to the hem. The body is worked in stockinette stitch throughout. The hem is finished with a double―knit band.
