Zultanite IS NOT a pattern for a shawl, nor is it a pattern for a scarf – although these two shapes are undoubtedly its origin. It is also not a pattern for a blouse, a bag, or a skirt – even though you can see all of these things on my photos. Instead, it is a pattern that contains a SET OF CHARTS, allowing you to create all of these items and many more – whatever your imagination inspires you to do.
The file contains charts for:
- A triangular wedge – repeated three or four times, it creates a shawl or a bandana; six times, it forms a doily. I used a single wedge as a bag flap.
- A rectangle – can be used, for example, as a scarf, a mesh bag, or the front and back panels of a shrug.
- A tube – this is a rectangle worked in the round, like a cowl. In my prototypes, I used it for the bodice of a blouse and the upper section of a skirt (from the waist to the flare).
- Hexagonal rosettes – a fixed-size motif that can be used individually or joined in larger quantities for projects like blankets. I used them to make a bag and a cosmetic pouch.
- Starting the wedge from the wider edge (not from the center) – allows you to create a neckline for a blouse or the upper edge of a flared skirt.
- Adding a wedge – a chart designed primarily for flared skirt projects. It can also be used to create a ruffle along the edge of your work (e.g., for sleeves, or the bottom of a blouse or straight skirt).
- Two borders – wide and narrow.
The first four charts form the foundation, while the remaining ones are modifications that allow you to start, shape, and finish your project.
