Tie Top

The **Tie Top** is worked flat in front and back pieces from the bottom up. The garment contains a background texture of horizontal stripes and a stockinette necktie shape in the center front. Shoulders are shaped with short rows. Once front and back pieces are completed, shoulders are seamed using a three-needle bind off and sides are seamed with a mattress stitch. Stitches are picked up around the armholes and a small edging is applied. Stitches are picked up around the neckline and a collar is worked in double stockinette stitch. A series of bound off and cast on stitches creates an open split between collar and body in the front center.
