These woodland-inspired mushrooms come in two sizes and finish with a crocheted fern accent for a complete cottage-core display piece. The base is worked from the bottom up and finishes with a scalloped ruffle edge. The cap is worked from the top down, shaping a dome and curving back toward the rim until the stitch count exactly matches the base. The two pieces join with a single slip-stitch seam, no sewing required, so the finish is clean and continuous. Stuffing beads are optional but add a satisfying weighted feel to the finished mushroom. Yarn over, insert hook into the same st, yarn over, and pull up a long loop (5 loops on the hook). Yarn over and pull through first 4 loops, yarn over and pull through remaining loops. Invisible sc2tog: Insert hook into front loop of first st, then front loop of second st.
