Scrappy Bias Shawl

Mini skeins! They are just about my favorite thing! But there are only so many socks and blankets that one can knit. After staring at my luscious stash of bright, spring colors I created this delectable shawl. It’s such a simple and addicting knit, with color changes happening however you desire. It’s like painting with your yarn! By increasing on one edge every row and decreasing on the other edge every two rows, you get a wonderful, bias, garter shawl that makes a really fun asymetrical triangle shape. When choosing colors, keep in mind that the earlier rows in your shawl are much shorter so will take less yarn for the same width stripes. Best results are achieved in staggering the width of your stripes to appear random for that scrappy look. Pattern size can be changed by simply using fewer or more pattern repeats. Adjust yarn quantities based on the size you want. NOTE: I've just uploaded a corrected version of this pattern. It originally read: Row 1 (RS): k1, kfb, to the end of the row. It should have read: Row 1 (RS): k1, kfb, KNIT to the end of the row.
