The Taevas cowl is a cozy exploration of southwestern Estonia in stitches. Dive into techniques like Roosimine Estonian Inlay from Tõstamaa and Kihnu vits braids and colourwork patterns from Kihnu island. Taevas means “sky” in Estonian as this design feels like the shifting weather patterns of the sky in Estonia from bright stars like Roosimine to blowing winds of a herringbone like braid. **PATTERN NOTES** This cowl is knit in the round to make a tube with the ends grafted together. The cowl features sections of Kihnu vits braids, stranded colourwork and Roosimine Estonian Inlay from Kihnu and Tõstamaa in Estonia. The Roosimine Estonian Inlay motif is worked on one side of the cowl. The cowl can be made longer or shorter by working more or less number repeats of braids, colourwork and Roosimine Estonian Inlay sections. The cowl begins with a provisional crochet cast-on with waste yarn.  The provisional cast-on in waste yarn is carefully undone once the cowl is knit to the desired length to place the live stitches onto a second set of needles for grafting using the Kitchener stitch method. **SIZE** One Size FINISHED MEASUREMENT Width: 8” / 20 cm Circumference: 27” / 68.5 cm **YARN** Kauni 8/2 Effektgarn (100% Wool, 656 yds / 600 m – 150 g).
