***Festival of Kites Scarf***
Festival of Kites is a celebration of playful geometry, vibrant color, and the spirit of unity. Inspired by the kite festivals of India, this design captures the joy of sunlit skies filled with movement, color, and shared celebration.
This pattern is also designed as a thoughtful stash-buster, making it ideal for using up leftover fingering-weight yarn. Small remnants are transformed into something meaningful, as each modular “kite” builds into a cohesive, striking fabric.
**Construction**
The scarf is worked flat and grows diagonally from a single pointed tip. It uses a modular construction where each new “kite” is attached as you go by picking up stitches along the edges of previously completed sections.
This creates a rhythmic, engaging build as the fabric expands into a bold triangular panel.
To finish, a Wrap & Turn short-row border is worked along the top edge. This smooths and balances the pointed geometry of the kites, creating a refined edge that transitions into a clean, elegant I-cord bind-off—framing the design with a polished finish.
