Bonnetbow scarf
A small introduction
The Bonnetbow scarf is a bonnet with long, double-knit ties. The ties can be styled in multiple ways, including the big bow that gives the piece its name. You can wear the bonnet as a hood, a scarf, tie a big bow or simply use it as a scarf. The edges of the Bonnetbow Scarf are neatly finished with i-cord edging for a clean and polished look.
The Bonnetbowscarf came to life because I needed something to keep my head and neck warm while cycling in Denmark. At the same time, I wanted something colourful to brighten those dark, cold days through Autumn and Winter.
Now that it’s spring, it works beautifully as a pop of colour.
The Bonnetbow Scarf is knitted using one strand of Kos yarn from Sandnes Garn (or another blow yarn of your choice) together with one strand of Tilia from Filcolana (or another silk mohair). As long as you achieve the correct gauge, you can substitute with similar yarns.
Now that you know this, you are ready to begin.
What you will need:
Needle:
5,5 mm circular needle (choose the wire length that suits you or use what you already have)
Yarn:
75g Kos from Sandnes Garn
50g Tilia from Filcolana
Gauge:
15x20 -10x10cm
17x20 - unwashed
Abbreviation - Nice to know:
stm - Stich marker
Stockinette stitch - Worked flat in knit rows and purl rows
Now you’re ready!
