You know the hat -- knit a long sausage, flip the bottom into the top, then fold the brim. It's my personal favorite style of hat to knit and to wear! I wrote this pattern so that it can be knit for any sized head, with nearly any weight yarn (up to a worsted/aran weight), no swatching needed. It's a perfect blank canvas pattern to either knit a vanilla beanie, or add your own special details with varying stitch patterns or yarn colors. The zine unfolds to show the hat sausage with simple directions for knitting it from top to bottom. Just pick your yarn and start knitting! After you've knit about a 3 inch circle, you'll pause to fill out a little worksheet on the back. The back of zine walks you through the math of calculating how many stitches per round you'll need to fit your head, based on your gauge at the start of the project. It's a super easy and super cute little worksheet, and I promise you'll love it even if you hate math. This pattern is available as a hard copy only, because the joy of this pattern is holding it in your hand :) **More Details:** The pattern creates a fully reversible, double layer hat with a round crown. When the brim is folded, you'll have four layers of fabric keeping you cozy. The samples shown here each only use one solid colored yarn, but you could easily create a reversible hat of different colors by switching yarns where you intend to fold the brim and at the center point. The increase pattern on the outer crown creates four sections, each separated by a tidy column of two stockinette stitches forming an X across the top of the hat. The decrease pattern on the inner crown directly mirrors the outer crown, with four sections separated by a column of two stockinette stitches. Both the inner and outer crown will look and fit the same, making the hat truly reversible. The three samples shown here are knit in three different yarn weights, gauges, and needle sizes, and more details of each can be found on their individual project pages: **Hat 1** Yarn: KOS Weight: Aran Needles: US 7 Gauge 4.5 sts/in Total yarn used: 322 yds, 98 g For head size: 22.25 in **Hat 2** Yarn: Double Sunday Weight: DK Needles: US 6 Gauge: 5.5 sts/in Total yarn used: 291 yds, 123 g For head size: 21.5 in **Hat3** Yarn: Meridian Weight: Fingering Needles: US 2 Gauge: 7.5 sts/in Total yarn used: 421 yds, 91 g For head size: 20.5 in
