My Helen cardigan is one of my most worn garments; I just love how the fit turned out. So for this pattern to accompany the article on puffed sleeves for the Fashion Framework series, I knew I wanted to take that silhouette and make it into a pullover. I envisioned a high neck, which would require a button placket at one shoulder in order to get the sweater over the head. I also envisioned a fuzzy “sweater girl” vibe for this design. In came Kidsilk Haze, held together with the wool yarn in just the ribbing sections. In addition to adding that wonderful halo, using a different color allowed me to add a pop of color in those ribbing sections as well, without changing the main yarn. I ramped up the puffed sleeves here by adding in short rows, which allows the puffs to rise up a bit. Optional sleeve supports worked on the wrong side help those puffs stay upright as well. I am tickled pink (or should I say blue?) with my new version, and I hope you love this new sweater as much as I do!
