Splot

Splot is knit from the top down in the round featuring short row shaping for the back neck and a bold motif on the yoke, body and sleeves. This design is unisex and size inclusive and includes instructions on how to modify for your perfect body and sleeve lengths as desired. This sweater is designed to be worn with an oversized fit. 10-14" [25.5- 35.5 cm] of positive ease is suggested. The sample shown is a size 2, worn on a 33" [84 cm] chest. The original sample is knit in Tumalo Tumble from Tumalo Fiber, a bulky yarn with a thick/thin texture, which contributes to the irregular look of the motifs. If you use this yarn or a similar type be sure to make a big enough swatch to measure the full 4" [10 cm] since each stitch size will vary and you need to make sure your average stitch size is correct. This pattern was inspired by the children's book The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Pinkwater **MATERIALS Needles:** Note - needle sizes are suggested only.
