The Jali Wristlet

This pattern is inspired by latticed stone screens used as indigenous architectural elements in South Asia. Originally published for mosaic knitting, this crochet version is especially for my Yarncraft Circle folks in Lahore to illustrate the adaptability of mosaic across knitting and crochet. Sharing more broadly to spread the cheer. The mosaic pattern is presented as a crochet chart and may be easily adapted for use in other projects. It is backed with step-by-step line instructions and ancillary primers to aid the beginners of colorwork. In addition, this piece packs in a few other crocheting techniques like jogless stripes, surface crochet, and embellished cords. The wristlet is a great stash-buster plus a good candidate for an elegant crocheted gift. In fact, the pattern is suggested as a wristlet because am currently putting together a care package for a friend who is recovering from leg surgery. My sample piece is a gift for her to tote her handy stuff while she is in the phase of assisted walking. May she continue using it also in fully recovered health.
