**ABOUT THE GRACE CARDIGAN (V-neck)** The Grace Cardigan is a simple, classic raglan cardigan with a v-neck, balloon sleeves and purl edge details. It’s worked seamlessly from the top down, with the neckline, hem, and cuffs finished in a classic 1x1 rib stitch. The body and sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch, and the edges are completed with an elegant Italian bind-off for a refined look. The button band is worked in double knitting. Designed for a relaxed, slightly oversized fit, the Grace Cardigan has a straight OR gently tapered silhouette with shaping through the body. The pattern includes instructions for both the straight and tapered body. The balloon sleeves have beautiful decrease details before ending in a cuff in 1x1 rib stitch. You could also use all the yarn combos I’ve used for the Grace Sweater with a crew neck and/or V-neck, as these 2 cardigans have the same gauge. **SIZE GUIDE & MEASUREMENTS** The Grace Cardigan is an oversized cardigan with a positive ease of approx. 15.5 - 16.5 cm (6 - 6.5 inches) compared to the body bust circumference. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust circumference (of the body) of approx. 74 (84) 94 (104) 114 (124) 134 (144) 155 cm (29.25 (33) 37 (41) 45 (48.75) 52.75 (56.76) 61 inches) respectively. Keep in mind that the final measurements of the cardigan already take these extra 15.5 - 16.5 cm (6 - 6.5 inches) into account. Ease is a personal preference. Take the necessary measurements to determine the right size for you before you start knitting. **Sizes**: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL **Bust circumference**: at widest point (just after splitting body and sleeves), with closed button band (button band width 3 cm (1.25 inches)): 90.5 (100.5) 110.5 (120.5) 130.5 (140.5) 150.5 (160.5) 170.5 cm 35.75 (39.5) 43.5 (47.5) 51.5 (55.25) 59.25 (63.25) 67.25 inches **Hip circumference**: measured just above the hem, with closed button band (button band width 3 cm (1.25 inches)), when you make the tapered version (3 rows with decreases): 84.5 (94.5) 104.5 (114.5) 124.5 (134.5) 144.5 (154.5) 164.5 cm 33.25 (37.25) 41.25 (45) 49 (53) 57 (60.75) 64.75 inches **Hip circumference**: measured just above the hem, with closed button band (button band width 3 cm (1.25 inches)), when you make the tapered version (4 rows with decreases): 82.5 (92.5) 102.5 (112.5) 122.5 (132.5) 142.5 (152.5) 162.5 cm 32.5 (36.5) 40.25 (44.25) 48.25 (52.25) 56 (60) 64 inches **Length**: measured at center back, excl. neck, incl. hem: 54 (55) 56 (58) 60 (62) 63 (64) 66 cm 21.25 (21.75) 22 (22.75) 23.5 (24.5) 24.75 (25.25) 26 inches **Sleeve length**: measured under the armhole opening, incl. cuff: 41.5 (42.5) 42.5 (43) 42.5 (41) 40.5 (42.5) 43 cm 16.25 (16.75) 16.25 (17) 16.75 (16.25) 16 (16.75) 17 inches **Sleeve circumference**: measured at armhole opening: 33 (36) 38 (41) 43 (44) 47 (49) 51 cm 13 (14.25) 15 (16.25) 17 (17.25) 18.5 (19.25) 20 inches **Cuff circumference**: 20 (23) 23 (25.5) 26.5 (26.5) 28.5 (30.5) 30.5 cm 7.75 (9) 9 (10) 10.5 (10.5) 11.25 (12) 12 inches **Yoke depth**: measured from center back to underarm cast-on edge, excl. neck: 21 (22) 24 (26.5) 27 (28.5) 30 (31.5) 33 cm 8.25 (8.75) 9.5 (10.5) 10.75 (11.25) 11.75 (12.5) 13 inches **Depth V-neck**: measured from the cast-on edge (center back) to the end of the increase section, before adding the button band: 20 (21) 22 (24) 25 (26) 28 (29) 30 cm 7.75 (8.25) 8.75 (9.5) 9.75 (10.25) 11 (11.5) 11.75 inches **GENERAL INFO & SUPPLIES** **Gauge**: 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches), AFTER blocking: **Stockinette stitch**: 20 sts x 27 rows with needles 4 mm (US 6) **1x1 rib**: 21 sts x 27 rows with needles 3 mm (US 2.5) **double knitting**: 22 sts x 28 rows with needles 3 mm (US 2.5) **Needles**: Circular needles 3 & 4 mm / cable lengths 40, 60 and/or 80, 100 cm (US 2.5 & 6 / cable length 16, 24, and/or 32, 40 inches). **Extra supplies**: 10 stitch markers of which 1 can be distinguished to indicate the BOR. 4 buttons (15 or 17.5 mm). **Suggested yarn**: ‘Torino’ (25 g - 185 m) held together with ‘Premia’ (25 g - 300 m), both from LAMANA Torino: 150 (150) 175 (175) 200 (200) 225 (225) 250 g Premia: 100 (100) 100 (125) 125 (125) 150 (150) 150 g OR ‘Tweed Supreme’ from MAJO Garn (50 g - 350 m) held double (yarn amounts below give the total needed amount of yarn): 300 (350) 350 (400) 450 (450) 450 (500) 500 g OR ‘Fine Merino’ (50 g - 175 m) held together with ‘Pearl Mohair’ (25 g - 210 m), both from MAJO Garn: Merino: 300 (350) 350 (400) 400 (450) 450 (500) 500 g Mohair: 125 (150) 150 (175) 175 (175-200) 200 (200) 225 g Note: you could also use 1 strand of Tweed Supreme instead of the merino.
