This pattern is written in US crochet terminology. The cups are worked in the round using alternating front post and back post stitches to create texture and structure. Round 4 establishes the fpdc/bpdc pattern with increases placed to maintain the stitch flow. In all following rounds, increases are worked as (dc, ch 1, dc) in the ch-1 spaces. After the final increase in each round, a few stitches will remain before joining. This is expected and part of the shaping. The cup border is worked before joining the cups together and attaching them to the band.
