First the back section is worked back and forth to shape the slope of the shoulders with increases. Then stitches are picked up for each shoulder, then the front pieces are knit separately until they are joined to form the front section. The front and back are joined at the underarms to form the body, which is worked in the round to the bottom ribbing. Then stitches are picked up around the neck to work the ribbed neck edge, that is fold inward to closed to form a double neckband.
