Matyó Inspired Bag

Matyó designs originated in embroidery over 200 years ago within Hungary. This bag, which would be perfect as a handbag or clutch bag, has been inspired by the colours and motifs of Matyó designs. The main "granny" square motif would be rated intermediate level for crocheters due to many colour changes and unusual stitches such as front post stitches and clusters, but the strap itself is made from simple rows of single crochet stitches. This design would also lend itself well to a blanket pattern. This pattern is available as a FREE written pattern online in US terminology or as a downloadable PDF for a small fee. Suggested Materials - 4mm crochet hook - Aran/worsted weight yarn (4) - Yarn needle & scissors Gauge is not essential to this project, but try to keep a tight knit.
