Dots Skinny Scarf

Tiny fashion piece you can make yourself **Dots Skinny Scarf** is a beginner friendly, simple and quick project, perfect for using up leftover yarn from other projects. The clean shape combined with embroidered dots leaves plenty of room for creativity. You can mix different yarns, colors, and textures to create your own unique version. This is a project you can truly have fun with (and there’s a high chance you’ll want to cast on another one as soon as you finish the first). The scarf is worked flat in stockinette stitch, with i-cord edges worked as you go. The dots can be embroidered either after finishing or as you go, using a tapestry needle and the duplicate stitch technique. **MEASUREMENTS** a) Length: approx. 170 cm / 67" b) Width: approx. 9 cm / 3.5" **SUGGESTED KNITTING NEEDLES** 5 mm (US 8) circular needles (60–80 cm / 24–32"), or straight or double-pointed needles **NOTIONS** Tapestry needle Scissors Measuring tape **YARN** *Mohair version:* **MC:** approx. 30 g Filcolana ‘Tilia’ (25 g = 210 m / 230 yds), 70% kid mohair, 30% silk, col. 101. **CC (dots)**: approx. 10 g ONLine 98 ‘Cartlon’ (25 g = 225 m / 246 yds), 75% super kid mohair, 25% silk, col. 16. *Cotton / linen version:* **MC:** approx. 50-60 g Sandnes Garn ‘Line’ (50 g = 110 m / 120 yds), 53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen, col. 1015. **CC (dots):** approx. 10-20 g Sandnes Garn ‘Line’ (50 g = 110 m / 120 yds), 53% cotton, 33% viscose, 14% linen, col. 8236. Alternatively, use any DK-weight yarn (e.g. two strands of mohair with silk held together): **MC:** approx. 150–170 m / 164–186 yds* **CC (for dots):** approx. 20–30 m / 22–33 yds* **If working with two strands held together, the required yardage should be doubled. **GAUGE** A gauge swatch is not essential for this project. The scarf is narrow, and the length can easily be adjusted to your preference. For reference, my gauge is: 22 sts × 26 rows = 10 cm / 4" in stockinette stitch on 5 mm (US 8) needles, before blocking.
