Come with us on a walk in the woods...
======================================
We had so much fun last time, we are now introducing a new collaboration between [Nim Teasdale][1] and [Anne-Lise Maigaard][2].
Diana in the Woods is a three-part, two-colour mosaic, cable and lace triangle wrap MKAL, with games and prizes, hosted in our new [collaboration][3] group.

**Difficulty**
Medium to advanced. **Charts only**, no row-by-row written pattern. We offer a captioned video of the cast on and first many rows, as well as of special stitches (link in pattern). Special sts: Cables, slipped sts, nupps, knit 1 below and kyok increases.
**Construction**
The shawl is worked from side to side, starting with a few stitches at one end, increasing at one side and ending with a simple stretchy bind off at the other end.
**Size**
Any size possible. We mean that. Make it for a doll, or for a house.
For the MKAL, we give a suggested number of repeats of the various elements, for a finished wrap that measures approx. 67 inches (170 cm) long and 40.5 inches (103 cm) wide at bind off edge when worked in heavy fingering weight on size US 4 (3.5 mm) needles.
**Yarn and yardage**
You need 2 colours of fingering weight yarn: Colour 1 (dark) and colour 2 (light). Make sure you have good stitch definition and high contrast. To be on the safe side with your available amount of yarn, make sure you have 600 yards (550 m) colour 1 and 380 yards (350 m) colour 2 for the suggested size.
Please bear in mind that you might use less than the suggested amount to make the suggested size, so we don’t recommend using a gradient unless you are flexible about how much of it is used. However, you can go rogue and choose to end any of the 3 parts sooner if you run out of either yarn, or you can work extra repeats if you have the yardage.
Pick yarn that is a bit grippy and not too slippery. Nim used a light fingering, DyeDianaDye TLPrime {HL} on US 2½ (3 mm) needles, and Anne-Lise used a heavy fingering (close to sport weight), Indiecita 100 % alpaka fingering, (363 y (332 m)/ 100g) on US 4 (3.5 mm) needles.
**Suggested needle size**
Size US 2½ - 4 (3 mm - 3.5 mm) depending on your yarn. Use the size you need to get a fabric you like. Circular needles recommended, as you will end with a good number of stitches on your needles.
**Beads**
Optional. Beads can be added in Part 3 - the number will depend on the number of repeats worked. Beads are added to the stitch as you go (not pre-strung). For the suggested size and if beading all the suggested stitches, you will need approx. 30 g or 242 seed beads size 6/0. You can choose to bead all of the suggested stitches, or only some. To help you when choosing colour, beads are added to colour 1 (dark colour) yarn only.
**Other notions**
Moveable stitch markers may be useful if you like to mark repeats. Gizmo for adding beads. 2 cable needles. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
