The best year round vest!!! Designed exclusively for Mayflower, the lush, breezy Jugular Vest has a straight fit, with carefully shaped shoulders and a deep v-neck. The main stitch is moss stitch. It’s worked top down, starting at the back panel from which you later pick up the right and left shoulder. The front is then joined and when you reach the armpits the whole body is joined and you work the sweater in one panel. All openings are finished with yarn over slip stitch ribbings. The vest will be rigorously blocked, which is why both blocked and unblocked gauge is stated. Make sure to block your gauge swatch with pins to get the right amount of stretch. Blocking to this extent also affects the fit of the garment, and it will feel too short and too small if you try it on before it’s been blocked. This is normal and nothing to worry about. **Techniques used** Moss stitch - first row: sc 1, ch 1 while skipping the next st. On the next row, sc 1 under the ch from previous row, and ch 1 over the sc from previous row. 1 sc + 1 ch are counted as 1 moss st. All moss st counts are including the first 2 ch of row. Yarn over slip stitch - yarn over, insert hook in the advised loop, pull through all loops on hook. Slip stitch - insert hook in the advised loop, pull yarn through all loops on hook.
