Matchbox Pet Bee

This pattern is for a small no-sew bee and a daisy for it to collect nectar from! The pattern also includes printable templates to enable you to make not only the matchbox and name card, but also a range of bee themed gift tags, making it an ideal gift, stocking filler or craft fair item. This project involves no sewing – the legs are added and wings are attached while you make the body, so the only sewing is to close the hole at the end! If you choose to make the bee without the box, this design also works well in different weight yarns for uses such as a brooch, hair clip or keychain. The pattern is written in English using American crochet terms and contains loads of photos to help you every step of the way. **You will need:** Yarn of your choice. I used dk weight yarn (equivalent to light worsted, weight 3) and my finished bee measures approximately 5cm long. Using a thicker yarn than this may result in your pet bee not fitting inside the accompanying box. **You will need the following colours:** * White - for the wings & petals (approx. 6m). * Light grey - for the back end (approx. 1.25m). * Yellow - for the stripes (approx. 2.25m). * Black - for the body, legs & head (approx. 4m). Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice. **You will also need:** * A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook. * A small amount of toy stuffing. * Other tools you will need are a needle, some scissors and some stitch markers. * To make the matchbox and name card or gift tags, you will need access to a printer and to print the relevant pages out onto thick white paper or thin white card. **You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
