Errata available: https://lainepublishing.com/pages/errata These mitts are worked from the cuff up. The ribbed cuff is striped in C1 and C2. Once the cuff is finished, the colourwork section begins. A thumb gusset is worked to ensure a good fit, and once all thumb sts have been increased, these are put on hold while the top of the mitt is finished. After the top of the colourwork section, another section of striped rib is worked at the top. Lastly, the thumb sts are placed back on the needle and the ribbed thumb is worked separately. SIZES 1 (2, 3) Recommended ease: 1–2.5 cm / 0.5–1" of negative ease. Choose a size that is 1–2.5 cm / 0.5–1" smaller than the circumference of your palm. FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Palm circumference: 16 (17, 18.5) cm / 6.25 (6.75, 7.25)". Cuff length: 8 cm / 3.25". Thumb circumference: 5.5 (7, 8) cm / 2.25 (2.75, 3.25)". Needles 2.5 mm / US 1.5 for rib and colourwork. Or size needed to obtain gauge. Use a long circular needle for Magic Loop, or DPNs. Notions Tapestry needle, one stitch marker, stitch holder or scrap yarn. GAUGE 35 sts x 37 rows to 10 cm / 4" on 2.5 mm / US 1.5 needles in colourwork pattern, after blocking.
